Los Blancos are under unnecessary pressure by dropping points in their opening four games of La Liga and although they have a game in hand, Madrid are already light years away from the Catalan giants. Barcelona seem to be getting back into their winning stride and their latest steamroll over Eibar is evidence that we’ll be witnessing the Barcelona we all know and love this season. Sevilla marked their third consecutive victory with their latest win over Girona. Eduardo Berizzos’ men are sitting in second place but their next challengers after Las Palmas are Atletico Madrid, a team that’s looking to collect all three points to come out of sixth place. We’ll be looking at the most sensible bets of the week and the important factors to consider when betting on La Liga.
Bet on Sevilla
Should Sevilla win their upcoming clash against Las Palmas, they’ll just be two points away from the league leaders. As mentioned above, Sevilla will travel to the capital city over the weekend to face Atletico Madrid. Both teams will be playing two games in the space of three days and fatigue might be a determining factor.
Sevilla are the clear favourites to collect all the points with odds priced at 1.35. Las Palmas started their campaign on the wrong foot but quickly bounced back with back to back wins. They’re priced at 9.00 to beat Sevilla but double chance betting might be a safer option if you’re looking to back the visitors. Double chance on Las Palmas is priced at 3.35. Sevilla found the net six times in their opening four matches – nothing to write home about, however, they only conceded one, which makes betting on goals a little trickier. Both teams to score is priced at 1.72 but can Las Palmas find a cheeky goal against a robust defence that’s kept three clean sheets out of four games? Odds for one team (or none) to score at set at 2.08. Under 2.5 goals is also worth considering. The bet has odds of 2.65 and three out of four of Sevilla’s games this season ended in under 2.5 goals.
Bet on Barcelona
Five games, five wins for the Catalan giants are they’re not showing signs of slowing down any time soon. Messi bagged four against Eibar and now, nine of the 17 goals Barcelona scored all came from the Argentinian forward. Barcelona will play their neighbours Girona next and odds for Barcelona to win the game are set at 1.28 and with their recent scoring run, it will be sensible to place a handicap bet on Barcelona. Odds for the visitors to win with a goal difference of two or more are set at 1.66 and 2.75 if they win with a goal difference of three.
Messi and Co. have only conceded two goals from their first five matches and we can’t see Girona finding the net, especially when considering the fact that they scored just three times in four games. Both teams to score is priced at 1.58 but La Liga betting fans know that a price of 2.25 for one team to score (or none) is too good to pass on.
Barcelona have odds of 1.67 to score in both halves and judging by what we’ve witnessed this season so far, it would be sensible to add this bet to your accumulator.
Bet on Madrid
Los Blancos have a game in hand but even if they win their upcoming clash against Real Betis, they’ll still be four points away from their league rivals. The Galácticos looked more convincing against Real Sociedad and the return of Cristiano Ronaldo will only result in more goals and more goal opportunities.
Odds are set at 1.08 to beat Betis, too low to even consider placing. Madrid only kept a clean sheet on one occasion from their first four games played and both teams to score has odds of 1.78. Choosing no teams to score is priced at 2.00 (evens) while under 3.5 goals has odds of 2.70.
Ronaldo is expected to score on his return from suspension and the odds are representing this statement as they’re set at 1.30 to get his name on the scoresheet. With the almost the same odds at 1.32, is the bet for Madrid to score in both halves, a feat they are almost too comfortable with.
