So you have to think she has every chance in conditions that will suit. 12pm Chepstow Galashiels He didn’t shine for us in two starts on the Flat in the summer, albeit in good company, but hopefully this is more his game. He was a very good horse on the Flat, beating the high-class Goliath in a Listed company among other smart middle-distance performances, so the ability is there. … Nico de Boinville: “Hopefully she can give a good account of herself”

12.45pm Kempton Noble Park He did it well for me at Hereford last month and then went to Lingfield and won by a wide margin for James. He has gone up 17lb for those two successes but we know he is a fast-progressing horse, for whom 2m4f on decent ground are an ideal combination. 2.25pm Ascot Impose Toi It may lack a stand-out from a form perspective but this is a strong renewal of the Long Walk, with depth. I’d like to think we have as good a chance as any though, as my horse has really progressed this season since being upped to 3m. 12.10pm Cheltenham Macshadow Des Crai He had three runs in bumpers and hurdles in France, and he showed ability there without winning. And I see he wasn’t beaten far behind last Saturday’s impressive winner Macktoad in a bumper in the summer. This is clearly something of a baptism of fire for him on his debut … Nico de Boinville: “I can see this greater test of stamina suiting him”

12.05pm Cheltenham Old Park Star He joined us from Paul Nicholls in the summer and we couldn’t have been happier with him as he won at Kempton last month. This is a much different test, on softer ground – this is clearly a much deeper race, and he carries a 6lb penalty too – but … Nico de Boinville: “He impressed me as a hurdler and hopefully he can make a better chaser”

12.42pm Huntingdon Coastal Command He has run two promising races to date, in a bumper than and then over hurdles at Uttoxeter in October, so I’d say he has a solid chance in this maiden hurdle. 2.23pm Huntingdon Bobajob He ran an excellent race in debut when second to El Cairos at Newbury in November, … Nico de Boinville: “He has improved a lot physically, so hopefully he can fulfil that initial promise on his hurdling debut.”

12.43pm Sandown Crazierthandaisy I thought she did it well for me at Warwick last time, so hopefully she can be competitive here off a 5lb higher mark, although that was probably the harshest the handicapper could have been for a length win.
