Player to score – Kai Havertz (Arsenal v Southampton) 27/25

There was a lot of talk over the summer about Arsenal’s perceived need for a new centre forward. So far this season, though, Kai Havertz has more than filled that role in Mikel Arteta’s team, scoring three times in his last three games. The German will fancy his chances of extending that run this weekend.

Southampton have yet to keep a clean sheet in the Premier League this season with only Everton and Wolves conceding more goals than Russell Martin’s team. Arsenal will have chances to find the back of the net after scoring four against Leicester last weekend and Havertz will be the focal point of their attack.

 

Under 2.5 total goals – West Ham v Ipswich (6/5)

West Ham have struggled for momentum over the early part of the season with Julen Lopetegui’s side on a run of five games without a win in all competitions. Ipswich Town have also found points hard to come by with the Tractor Boys still awaiting their first Premier League win following promotion.

With both teams struggling for confidence and goals – West Ham have scored six times in six games while Ipswich Town have found the back of the net just three times – Saturday’s match at the London Stadium promises to be a cagey affair that could be decided by a single goal.

 

Match to be a draw – Eintracht Frankfurt v Bayern Munich (19/5)

Eintracht Frankfurt have started the Bundesliga season strongly with Dino Toppmoller’s team currently second in the table, just one point behind pace-setters Bayern Munich. Frankfurt are currently on a run of four league wins in a row and have scored 10 goals in their last three outings in all competitions.

Bayern Munich have also been scoring for fun in the Bundesliga this season, finding the back of the net no fewer than 17 times in just five games. Sunday’s encounter between these two teams could be a back-and-forth affair with the two sides at the top of the table playing with a lot of confidence.

 

Both teams to score – Brighton v Tottenham (33/100)

Tactically, Sunday’s match between Brighton and Tottenham Hotspur could be one of the most interesting of the entire Premier League season. Both teams like to play high defensive lines and this could make the game at the Amex Stadium more like a basketball match than a Premier League fixture.

There has been over 2.5 goals scored in 29 of Tottenham’s 35 match league matches. Brighton have also scored two or more goals in each of their last three games in all competitions. Anyone with a ticket to Sunday’s match at the Amex Stadium should expect to see a lot of goals scored.

This mid-week brought very different experiences for Aston Villa and Manchester United. While Unai Emery’s team claimed a 1-0 win over Bayern Munich in the Champions League, United needed a stoppage time equaliser from Harry Maguire to salvage a point against Porto in the Europa League.

Villa will fancy their chances of adding to United’s misery. Erik ten Hag’s team have conceded six goals over their last two matches, which will be a concern for them given the attacking threat of Ollie Watkins and Jhon Duran. Villa have also had more corners than their opponents in 13 of their last 14 league home matches. They will apply pressure.
