IT was a great day at Kempton for Seven Barrows yesterday with not just Constitution Hill winning but the stable having a terrific treble too.

I must say thank you to everyone on the course and online that have sent us nice messages. It means a lot to us all.

I am delighted to report that Constitution Hill appears to be fine this morning. He ate up and trotted out this morning in his usual way and went out into his paddock and had a great big roll in the muddiest patch of grass he could fine, totally oblivious to all the yesterday’s furore. He’s always been very relaxed and along with his slick jumping, it’s his greatest attribute.

The team at Seven Barrows earning a well-earned drink after working the horses on Christmas Day, ahead of yesterday’s terrific treble at Kempton!

Speaking of jumping, owner Michael Buckley let out a ‘wow’ when he jumped the fourth last, but I must say I was more ‘whoa’ as that was a very big jump to make so far out.

Racing continues at Kempton today where we have four runners:

1:55 Kempton

Sir Gino makes his chasing debut having taken the Grade One Fighting Fifth hurdle at Newcastle on his seasonal debut. He’s always been a high class horse, and he has been very, very good when schooled over fences at home, but he is short on experience and this will be a real test for him today as he takes on the very talented Cheltenham Festival winner Ballyburn, who has already won over fences at Punchestown. We’ve been fortunate enough to have won this Grade 2 Wayward Lad novices chase contest 10 times in the past with the likes of Remittance Man, Sprinter Sacre, Simonsig and Altior to name just a few and we are all hoping that Sir Gino can be added to that illustrious list.

Although Pawapuri had a run us on the flat in May, she was having her first hurdle race since January at Kempton last month when third to the decent mare Kateria and she would have benefitted for that outing  She won a listed contest for us as a novice last season and we’re very hoping that this step up in trip will play to her strengths.

3:38 Kempton

Willmount was running a good race at Cheltenham when he and Nico fell three out at the November meeting. I’m glad to say that both horse and jockey were perfectly okay after the fall and we’re hoping Willmount can get back to winning ways here. He’s still relatively inexperienced – he’s only had three races over hurdles, and completed just the one – and we’re very much hoping there is more improvement to come. We also run the lightly raced Jet Powered here too who will be ridden by James Bowen. Jet Powered has had one run this season when taking too keen a hold at Newbury earlier this month before being pulled up. Hopefully that will have taken the freshness out of him and he will settle a little better today.

Nicky’s Treble

After the success on Boxing Day can Nicky go back to back and land a treble again today?

£10 on all three to win potentially returns £31O. Fancy it?
