Sunrise Ruby

Winner of her only bumper, she ran well when placed on both starts here last season. She reappeared to finish a good second to a progressive,  all-the-way winner on her return at Sandown and I’d say everything is in place for a big run here. She went up 5lb for that Sandown run, which is plenty enough, but we did pull clear of the third and I’d be disappointed if there isn’t more to come from my well-related mare.

Mister Coffey

He was very impressive when winning his bumper for Harry [Whittington] at Huntingdon back in April, and he cost a lot of money when going to the sales in the summer. He is clearly a very exciting addition to the yard , a lovely stamp of a horse, and we are obviously looking for a bold showing here. His schooling and work has gone well but he is still very raw.

Colonial Dreams

He rounded off last season with a good win in a competitive handicap at Sandown. He has gone up 7lb for it and the ground will be a lot softer than it was that day, but he has won in testing conditions and hopefully there is plenty more to come from him this term. He would ideally want better ground, though.

Polydora

He was beaten a long way into second on his return but he got tired there and made mistakes late on as a result, so hopefully he can improve markedly on that run here. The handicapper has given him a fair chance, too, and he did improve for a run last season as well.

Morning Vicar

He won well at Ludlow before disappointing here, but he made a good return to action wen second at Kempton. He makes his chasing debut from a mark of 126 here and I reckon that could make him very competitive. He certainly has the ability to figure prominently, and the size to make a chaser. He is a horse that I have always liked since he won his bumper here on debut.
