Touchy Feely

She has had a break since we last saw her in May and she is down to a mark of just 113 now. If she can recapture her early promise, in soft ground that she handles, then she has her chance.

Willmount

A good, unbeaten bumper horse, he was very impressive for me when winning at Newbury last season. But he didn’t run his race when we sent him to the Challow, after which the boss wasn’t happy with him and he put him away for the season. He reappears off a mark of 130 here and hopefully he will be very competitive off that mark. It looks a pretty decent handicap, though.

Jonbon

We all know about this horse by now. Never out of the first two, winner of 15 of his 18 races, unbeaten in four starts around here and ground-versatile, he is obviously the one to beat. We thought he may just need it on his return at Cheltenham last month, so we were very happy with his win there. He jumped brilliantly for me and we have been happy with him since. You have to respect his rivals, and Quilixios looked good last time, but our horse sets a very high standard for the others to reach.

3.35pm

Mr Vango

A trip in soft ground are his conditions. It is just a matter if the handicapper has his measure, as he went up a lot for his Exeter and Cheltenham runs last season before disappointing when favourite for the Scottish National. He has his chance, for sure, though.
