Richard Hannon: “He’s generally consistent and has a solid each-way chance in a competitive race”

IT’S great to be back on board with the guys at Unibet for another season, and while the likes of Royal Ascot and the Qatar Goodwood Festival seem quite a long way away, especially when you take into account how terrible the weather has been, and still is, those big meetings will creep up on us before we know it, and we’ve also got the Guineas Festival just five weeks away where we hope Rosallion will take his chance in the 2000 Guineas. He’s wintered well and we may give him a prep run, if we need to, but he won’t be racing on any ground with the description of ‘Soft’ in it.

Slightly lesser fare this Friday, but we have a few decent chances at Newcastle and Lingfield and hopefully we can bag a winner or two.

Talis Evolver (Joe Levey)

We’ve kept him pretty busy during the winter and he’s managed to finish either first or second on every run on the All Weather, except for last time when we upped him in trip, and he blatantly didn’t stay. The drop back to a mile will definitely suit and while he’s plenty high enough in the weights, Joe takes off a very handy 5lbs and I’m hopeful he can run well.

God Of Thunder (Alec Voikhansky)

We tried him over further last time, but I’m not sure he stayed, so we’re dropping back in trip and he’ll probably have to come from behind in stall 14, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing at Lingfield. He’s generally consistent and has a solid each way chance in a competitive race.

Lexington Knight (Paddy Bradley)

He stays this trip well and is starting to look potentially quite well handicapped. He’s very much a no-nonsense horse who likes to skip along in front and he enjoys his racing. This is a very valuable prize, and he deserves to take his chance.

Bosh (Sean Levey)

He’s always been a very smart horse and has been performing really well on the All Weather over the winter, including winning under top weight at Chelmsford in January, followed by two gutsy efforts in defeat, where he wasn’t beaten far in each. The likely decent pace will suit, and he’s drawn well in three, so has a great chance.

Sighter (Greg Cheyne)

She seemed to enjoy herself out front when winning on Handicap debut at Chelmsford and is now 3lbs higher, in fact, you could say she’s up 8lb taking into account Alec was on board last time, so she undoubtedly has to improve a lot, but she’s a tough little filly and will hopefully handle the step up in grade.
