1:40 Nursery

Shammah (Sean Levey)

She handles good to soft so hopefully she’ll be ok on this ground, although it will be very testing out there. Stamina will be key here and she’s bred to stay much further than this so I’m hopeful she’ll be finishing her race very well.

 

3:20 Fillies’ Novice

Bruisa (David Probert)

She ran with promise on debut over six furlongs here but will have no problem with the step up to a mile and she has certainly improved for that first run. This is a decent-looking novice race but she’s a half sister to Billesdon Brook and Billesdon Bess so hopefully she has inherited some of their ability.

Exhibit (Sean Levey)

She’s a lovely looking filly by Showcasing who we’ve taken our time with and this is a good starting point. The ground won’t be an issue and she’s from the family of Coronet who relished soft ground so I’ve got no worries on that front. Her work has been good and I’m looking for a decent run from her.

Lady Excalibur (Rossa Ryan)

She has plenty of stamina in her pedigree so will be one to keep an eye on in the future, but I’ve been very happy with her at home and we’ve given her lots of time to fill into her frame. She’d have a decent chance of finishing in the money, I hope.

Sri Sene Power (Martin Dwyer)

Her sire, Dark Angel, loved soft ground so that is very much in her favour, but she definitely needs to improve on what she’s shown so far, although the step up to a mile could help.

 

3:55 Listed Radley Stakes

Separate (Sean Levey)

She’s very tough and has been in great form pretty much all season. I’m not convinced she’ll  really like the ground but she looked to handle good to soft at Newmarket last time in a G3 and this is a drop down in grade, so there is hope. It’s a competitive race but I’m happy with her and she could easily run a huge race.

 

4:30 Handicap

Kuwait Currency (Sean Levey)

He had quite a long spell in the doldrums but since being gelded he’s hit a real purple patch and has been in great form on the All Weather at Kempton. We’re now going back up in trip (he’s ran over 10f & 12f before) and if he stays the distance on the ground, he’d have to be pretty much win material.

2:55 Handicap

Ritchie Valens (Cam Hardie)

He’s been consistent all season and gained a deserved win at Newbury in August. The handicapper has him in his grip but he should go on the ground and I wouldn’t rule him out.

 

4:35 Optional Claimer

Oh This Is Us (Thore Hammer-Hansen)

This is the last Optional Claimer of the season and they’re a good initiative of the BHA. Oh This Is Us has been a real star and Thore’s 5lb claim means he’s quite well treated here. This is his trip and he handles soft ground so there’s no reason not to fancy his chances. We’ve kept him busy but he handles his racing well and I’m extremely hopeful he can go very close.

 

5:10 Apprentice Handicap

Typhoon Ten (Mark Crehan)

He’s going up to seven furlongs which is a step into the unknown but he’s in good form at home and he ran well on soft ground at Leicester in August.

7:00 Handicap

Good Luck Fox (Silvestre De Sousa)

He’s not enjoyed the most productive of season’s and needs to step up on recent efforts to be given a serious chance. This is his first run on the All Weather but he works very well on it at home so I’ve got no concerns on that score and it would be nice if he could show some of the spark from his juvenile days.

 

8:30 Classified Stakes

Bader (Rossa Ryan)

He’s tumbling down the handicap as a reflection of his efforts on the track and there is absolutely no doubt he needs to show a little more before being considered a viable betting opportunity.
