Richard Hannon: The drying surface will help and he’s ready for a step up in trip

SATURDAY

YORK

3:55

Distant Memory (Danny Tudhope)

He stayed on nicely at Bath on his first run which was in very testing ground and, while it’s officially Soft at York, they do a great job with the track so it shouldn’t be that bad. This is a step up in class, but he’s come on a lot since his debut and has a solid each way shout.

NEWMARKET

4:15

Siegen (Jamie Spencer)

We’ve always liked him but unfortunately he hasn’t shown as much on the track as he does at home; that said, he was very impressive at Sandown in June and wasn’t disgraced on unsuitably soft ground last time. The drying surface will help and he’s ready for a step up in trip.

The Racing Postcast!

Sam Hart is joined by Keith Melrose, Jonny Pearson and Unibet’s Ed Nicholson and Brett Williams for this week’s episode of the Racing Postcast, where they preview the action at Chepstow, Newmarket and York this weekend.

The team tackle The Dewhurst Stakes, which looks an intriguing contest with two Godolphin horses taking on the Ballydoyle contender The Lion In Winter. The team also tries to solve the tricky puzzle that is the Cesarewitch Handicap, plus details of all our special offers, and the team’s NAPS for the weekend!
