SATURDAY AINTREE 1:20 H’Cap Hurdle BOLD ENDEAVOUR (JAMES BOWEN) He ran very well in the Pertemps at Cheltenham after coming down to a competitive rating and he appears to have come out of it in good shape.  He hasn’t won for a while, but is Mr Consistent and competes off the same mark as last … Nicky Henderson: “His record at Aintree is good and if he can bounce back, I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see him go close.”

1.20pm Aintree Jeriko Du Reponet I obviously wasn’t on him in the Kim Muir but it is fair to say he didn’t run up to expectations there. 1.45pm Aintree Joyeuse She clearly ran well, in first-time cheekpieces that are retained here, when third in the County Hurdle last time but unfortunately she has gone up 2lb for being beaten 5 lengths there. Small margins matter in these hugely competitive handicap hurdles but hopefully the step back up to 2m4f on decent ground … Nico de Boinville: “He has his chance on ground that will suit”

AINTREE – THURSDAY We don’t have quite as many runners at the Grand National Meeting as we may have in previous years but there is no particular reason, it’s just the way things have turned out. Some of our Cheltenham horses were never going to come, notably Old Park Star and Act Of Innocence, and … Nicky Henderson: “He’s the most likeable person and I’m looking forward to what should be a great race.”

UTTOXETER 2:35 Crazierthandaisy (Mr Daniel Williams) She ran slightly below par last time at Ascot is much better than that and I think the step back down to a more suitable trip on slower ground will be in her favour.
